EER
The Energy Efficiency Ratio (EER) that calculates the energy the unit uses to function. It can be found by dividing a unit’s BTU output by its wattage, and the high EER2 rating means a more efficient unit, so the higher the better.

COP
The Coefficient of Performance (COP) measures the heating efficiency of an air-to-water heat pump by comparing the amount of heat output to the electrical energy input. A higher COP indicates a more efficient system.

Sound Level
A decibel is a unit used to measure sound or power level of an electrical signal by comparing it with a given level on a logarithmic scale.

Compressor
The compressor pumps and compresses refrigerant, enabling heat transfer to condition the air efficiently.

Refrigerant
Refrigerant absorbs heat from indoor air in the evaporator coil and releases it outside through the condenser coil, enabling the cooling process.

Cooling capacity
The cooling capacity of an air conditioner or heat pump indicates the amount of heat it can remove per hour. It is measured in tons, with one ton equaling 12,000 BTUs.

Heating Capacity
Heating capacity, measured in MBH (thousand BTUs per hour), indicates the amount of heat an air-to-water heat pump can deliver.
BTU (British Thermal Unit) is a unit of energy that represents the amount of heat required to raise the temperature of one pound of water by one degree Fahrenheit.
*Quietest size within each model group during most common cooling operating condition.
